Here’s someone you haven’t seen in awhile – it’s Neil “Breaking Up is Hard to Do” Sedaka. He was most successful in the early 60’s and 70’s with his own songs, but wrote plenty of hits for other singers – likeConnie Francis. (He wrote her signature song “Where the Boys Are”) He was one of the first to produce music videos for Scopitones. Those were jukeboxes that featured video screens. We happened to own one in the 70’s and watched “Calendar Girl” over and over, featuring girls in bouffant hair and big bikinis. Above, the 75 year old is performing at Albert Hall in London – the English still appreciate America’s early rockers.
