Yesterday night Prime Minister Narendra Modi shook the nation with the decision to demonetize Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes from the Indian currency. Adding to the woes is the fact that all banks and ATM will not be functional for the next two days. Now we hear that apart from the populace that has been affected, the film industry has also been hit.

In fact, we hear that from this week’s releases while the makers Saansein and 30 Minutes have already postponed the release of their films, the sequel to the 2008 film Rock On, featuring Farhan Akhtar, Shraddha Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and others, Rock On 2, finds itself in a tight spot. Apparently the makers of the film seem to be stuck between a rock and a hard place with the prints of the film already being sent out to theatres, but with the ongoing demonetization of currency notes, the question that arises is, whether the audience will venture to theatres has got the makers thinking of postponing the release of the film.

When contacted, Amita Naidu from EROS categorically denied the deferment of the film saying. “As of now we are still on track and will go ahead with the release of Rock On 2 as per schedule.” However, despite attempts to contact the producer of the film, Riteish Sidhwani remained unresponsive.
