Readers may recall that we had reported about Madhur Bhandarkar’s next film titled Indu Sarkar, which is based on the infamous 1975 Emergency. We had also reported that the film will span a 21-month long period from 1975 to 1977, when Prime Minister (late) Indira Gandhi declared emergency across the nation.
Madhur Bhandarkar, who shared the first poster of Indu Sarkar in the social media, has begun the shooting of the film in Karjat from today. While the film’s story revolves around a stammering poetess who rebels against the system, the film stars Kirti Kulhari, Neil Nitin Mukesh and the Bengali actor Tota Roy Chowdhury.
