Often we have seen Hollywood films being adapted from some of the best selling novels. And now, back home, with the huge success of the adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s book in the form of 3 Idiots, producer Karan Johar too is contemplating to adapt a best seller into a film.

Karan will soon be adapting Amish Tripathi’s best seller The Immortals of Meluha into a film. Bollywood Hungama has learnt that Dharma Productions has acquired the film rights of Amish’s debut novel.

Apparently, it was Dharma Productions CEO, Apoorva Mehta, who managed to land the rights of the book beating even western rivals in the race. While the book delves into intense emotional content with the love story between Shiva and Parvati, KJo will be focusing on the finer details of the script.

However, though the initial acquisition is done, the bigger question now is, who will be directing the film and which actors will play the parts of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati in the celluloid version of the book.
