OMG! Here’s why Ileana D'Cruz rejected Salman Khan-starrer Wanted

Ileana D’Cruz made her debut Southern films in 2006 when she was not even 20. Slowly, she became one of the top actresses out there, having worked with some of the prominent actors and directors. And just like Tamannaah Bhatia, Trisha Krishnan, Shriya Saran etc, she too was wooed by Bollywood to work in a Hindi film. She finally did, in 2012 with Ranbir Kapoor-Priyanka Chopra starrer Barfi. But even before Barfi, she was offered some prominent films.

Ileana D’Cruz recently made a confession that way back in 2008, she was offered a big Hindi film. And that movie was none other than Wanted, the Prabhu Dheva-directed action film that took Salman Khan’s career on another level. At first, she got excited that her debut film would star such a huge superstar. But then when producer Boney Kapoor asked her to do a photoshoot of the film, she declined the film as she wanted to complete her education and give her exams. Ileana D’Cruz admitted that she didn’t handle the whole situation well and that she didn’t understand the gravity of the offer.

In fact, Ileana D’Cruz also had no qualms admitting that she used to sign up for a film without even thinking properly. She keeps joking that she was the Akshay Kumar of South as she used to do four films a year. Surprisingly, she was amused when she was offered a Telegu film, Devdasu, as her launch vehicle, since she thought that nobody would watch it! Calling it a ‘stupid, careless and carefree’ attitude, she even said that she is happy that she didn’t do a Bollywood film then. Or else, she would have made a fool of herself.

On the film front, Ileana D’Cruz just had two releases recently – the comic caper Mubarakan, co-starring Arjun Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Athiya Shetty, and the action flick Baadshaho, featuring Ajay Devgn, Esha Gupta, Emraan Hashmi and Vidyut Jammwal.
