“Money never has kept me going and it never will” – Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan is a popular star amongst all age groups, not just as a film star but also as a television show host. Hence, just like other superstars, even Shah Rukh Khan reportedly gets lots of money to host a reality show.

The superstar is now all set to come up with a new social television show, ‘TED Talks India – Nayi Soch’, that is expected to be aired in a month or two. There were reports that Shah Rukh Khan has shot for 10 episodes and has been paid Rs. 30 crore for it. That makes it Rs. 3 crore for each episode! Of course, getting a confirmation on this figure is next to impossible. But when asked if the superstar is doing ‘TED Talks India – Nayi Soch’ for monetary reasons, the superstar declined. He explained why money doesn’t matter much when it comes to choosing his projects and also advised youngsters to not run behind money. The superstar emphasized, “No, money never has kept me going and it never will. I am very well to do. God has been very kind to me in every aspect of my life – professionally, economically, financially and more than that, emotionally. But never ever have I done anything for the love of money. I’ll say this to every youngster – if you do something that you really desire and want to do, one of the things that’ll surely follow is money. It’s the least important of the pegs that you try to fill in when you are trying to do something be it job or hobby. Money is not going to be a problem at the end of it all. I say this from the point of view of a lower middle class boy who has had much more of the share of his financial benefits from the work I do than I ever dreamed of, in the wildest of dreams.”

He also has high hopes from ‘TED Talks India – Nayi Soch’ and admitted that he wants people to embrace it with open arms. He stated, “‘TED Talks India – Nayi Soch’ is currently the closest thing to my heart and I hope people love it as much as I love it. It’s important that it gets loved by everyone.”
