Ashish Lakhia, the 49 year old renowned art director, who, has to his credit of providing his expertise to films like Holi, Mirch Masala and Maya Memsaab departed for heavenly abode yesterday morning. The reason for his death is being cited as multiple organ failure with his lungs giving way first, followed by other complications.
Even though the surname may act as a giveaway, still, not many know that Ashish happened to be the cousin brother of director Apoorva Lakhia and also the brother of actor Aditya Lakhia (known for his ‘Kachara’s role in Lagaan). Besides being an art director par excellence, Ashish was also a painter and even had an exhibition at the Jehangir Art Gallery about 20 years ago, that was well received.
Bollywood Hungama sincerely prays for the departed soul of Ashish Lakhia to rest in eternal peace.
