Check out Taapsee Pannu shows off her sporty look on the sets of Soorma

Taapsee Pannu is soaring high on the success of her lastrelease Judwaa 2 starring Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez. While the film has given Taapsee Pannu a much needed glamourous avatar, Taapsee Pannu even wrapped up her next film Mulk. The actress is now shooting for her next film where she is playing a sports personality.

With Diljit Dosanjh and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles, Shaad Ali’s next film will trace the life story of Sandeep Singh. The film titled Soorma will star both the actors as hockey players. Sharing a picture from the sets of the film, Taapsee is seen standing upright donning the Indian Hockey jersey. Flaunting her jersey with plaited hair, knee length socks and sports shoes, Taapsee wrote, “Only if I wasn’t an actor…….  #Soorma #LoveForSports #IndianJersey.”

Directed by Shaad Ali, Diljit Dosanjh will be seen playing the role of the former Indian Captain of Hockey team, Sandeep Singh. The forthcoming film which not only will showcase the struggles and tribulations of this former captain of the Indian hockey team but will also be a salute to the hockey star’s spirit and courage. Taapsee Pannu will feature as the love interest as well as a hockey player who plays an integral role in changing Sandeep Singh’s life in the film. Also, Angad Bedi will star as Sandeep’s brother Bikramjeet Singh.

For the uninitiated, Sandeep Singh, also known as Flicker Singh, suffered a serious gunshot injury in 2006, two years after his international debut as a hockey player. After being paralyzed for two years on a wheelchair, the hockey player showed courage and dedication as he not only recovered from the trauma but also started playing the game again. He went on to become the captain of the Indian national hockey team and currently holds a DSP rank in Haryana Police.
