Remember the way we were taken aback by the grey shaded role of Varun Dhawan in Badlapur? The actor decided to go dark for the film and left the audiences surprised with his new image. From what we hear, his next October too will feature the Gen Y star in a never-seen-before role. Although details of the same are kept under wraps, we hear that the actor has taken that extra mile to pull off his role in the film.

WHAT? Varun Dhawan didn’t sleep for a week for October

In fact, if recent reports are to be believed, Varun Dhawan even ended up having sleepless for his role in the film. Varun Dhawan was reportedly asked to not sleep for an entire week. The reason? Well, the makers were vying for him to be able to look a certain way for his character in the film.

For a few scenes in the film, the director of the film Shoojit Sircar wanted Varun to look sombre. The filmmaker is known to keep his movies authentic. Hence, he wanted Varun to look as natural as possible and not use makeup. He instructed Varun to not sleep for a few days or have minimum sleep of an hour or two every day for a week.

Varun without hesitation followed the director’s vision and what translated on camera was spectacular. Speaking on the same, Shoojit Sircar said, “Yes I usually do this with many of my actors. I used this during Pink as well. A couple of scenes with Varun required extensive emotional burst-outs, a performance that showed him quite exhausted, depth and weight in his overall demeanour and eyes, coupled with a tired voice. So I asked him to not sleep at night prior to the scenes.”

Shoojit Sircar’s October is touted to be a story that revolves around a very different shade of love. Produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar, it marks the big screen debut of model Banita Sandhu. A Rising Sun Films Production, the film is set to release on April 13. The makers will be launching the trailer of the film early next week.
