Arjun Rampal to play Sher Khan in Zanjeer remake

There’s a famous dialogue in Bollywood which goes as ‘Daane daane pe likha hai khaane wale ka naam‘. The same holds true for the much coveted role of Sher Khan (which was portrayed by the veteran actor Pran) in the remake of the 70s blockbuster Zanjeer (directed by Apoorva Lakhia). Reports have it that, the role, which was first offered to Sonu Sood, also saw a strong contender in Sanjay Dutt… has now finally fallen in the lap of none other than Arjun Rampal!

Arjun said that since the remake is based in today’s times, his look doesn’t necessarily need to be exactly like Pran saab’s in the original. He also added that along with Apoorva, he has worked out a few ideas on his get up, which they will shortly zero down for the final look. Meanwhile, Apoorva stated that Arjun’s looks and physique make him the perfect choice for a role like Sher Khan.

The remake of Zanjeer is being produced by Reliance Entertainment, Adai Mehra Productions and Flying Turtles and the shooting of the film shall commence soon.
