Actor – singer Suchitra Krishnamoorthy recently slapped a legal notice on HSBC Bank claiming Rs. 5 crore for damages caused due to mismanagement of funds, mental agony, stress and harassment. Apparently, it is learnt that after Suchitra deposited a sum of Rs. 1.4 crore, the bank persuaded her to appoint them as her portfolio managers, promising a 24 percent return on her investments.

Later, in 2007, Suchitra invested another Rs. 2.2 crore bringing the total investments to Rs. 3.4 crores. However, she claims that the bank has been grossly negligent with her investments and has even acted against her interests. Further, she claims that, each time she incurred losses, the bank assured her that they would make good on the debts, but had always failed to do so. If that wasn’t enough, Suchitra also added that her portfolio with the bank has incurred losses up to Rs. 80 lakhs, which didn’t occur due to unforeseeable or unpredictable circumstances.

While on the other hand, the HSBC has claimed that they have received the legal notice, and will reply back shortly.
