Vidya Balan received her first Best Actress National Award for her terrific performance as Silk in the film The Dirty Picture, in New Delhi's Vigyan Bhawan yesterday.
Dressed in a traditional pink kanjeevaram sari and diamond chandelier earrings, Vidya received the Rajat Kamal from Vice President Hamid Ansari. She was accompanied by her parents for the award function.
"I am extremely humbled. This (National Award) is the highest honour for any actor, and I feel happy and humbled and I just wish that the team of The Dirty Picture was with me to share this moment. This is truly humbling," Vidya Balan told reporters after receiving the award.
