Ajay Devgn realised it hard way with his Tezz being challenged by The Avengers over the week gone by. Irony of the situation is that his next release Bol Bachchan has an even mightier competition, what with The Amazing Spider-Man releasing alongside.

"Bol Bachchan arrives on July 6 and The Amazing Spider-Man three days earlier to bring on the July 4 celebrations. It can't get bigger than this. Spiderman is a worldwide phenomenon and needless to say, it is the biggest international franchise in India as well. When films like Avatar, Harry Potter, 2012, Mission Impossible and now even The Avengers can create such a huge impact on the Indian box office, imagine the euphoria that The Amazing Spider-Man would create when it releases", comments an observer.

Those in the know-how of Bol Bachchan strength aren't really overtly worried with competition from their Western counterpart and believe that the film has enough steam to find an approving audience.

"Don't forget that Bol Bachchan brings together Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn. Together, they have given two 100 crore successes in the form of Singham and Golmaal 3. Even otherwise they have huge successes like All The Best, Golmaal and Golmaal Returns. Together, they are a huge franchise in themselves and the most successful director-actor 'jodi'. To say that they may be threatened by an English film would be imagining too much", says a close associate.

However, a fact cannot be ignored that The Amazing Spider-Man would open quite huge worldwide and it will definitely eat into the collections of Bol Bachchan.

"Well, it has been proven time and again that two films can survive if they are good enough. That should not be an exception for Bol Bachchan", a veteran filmmaker comments, "Yes, Ajay's last two films – Tezz and Rascals – haven't done well but the only reason for that can't be attributed to the Hollywood clash. After being attached to these films, even Ajay must have known in his heart that they lacked in content and were either vulgar or had loopholes galore. He was relatively quiet during the making of these films but expect him to come back firing all cylinders with Bol Bachchan. It is a huge project and he knows that."
Here is expecting that audience too get to know about that soon.
