Ranveer Singh and the big Khans – Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan have a major thing in common – their directors. It is extremely interesting that most of the directors who have worked with Salman and SRK are also making their films with Ranveer.
“Ranveer’s trajectory is quite exciting. Salman and Shah Rukh have both worked with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the legendary filmmakers have done 3 films with Ranveer. Karan Johar, who has delivered some of the biggest hits with SRK has now cast Ranveer in Takht as the male lead, Rohit Shetty has cast him for his masala entertainer Simmba and Aditya Chopra who has also worked with SRK extensively and has given India its biggest blockbusters, has also worked with Ranveer. Now, Kabir Khan has cast him as Kapil Dev in the much awaited 83,” says an industry observer.
“There is definitely a pattern that is emerging. Ranveer is one of the most exciting young talents that this industry has today and big film-makers seem to be taking big punts on it. That’s because Ranveer Singh can be trusted with a big film purely because he delivers the opening and those big blockbusters. It will be very interesting to see how Ranveer chooses his films from here on and become the most bankable actor of our times not just in box office results but also as an actor who can deliver great performances,” the observer says.
