After much speculation, discussions and gossip reports about the film, Bhaiaji Superhitt is all set to see the light of the day this year. The film, which will release this month, brings together actors like Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta and Ameesha Patel. As the trailer depicts, Preity plays the role of Sunny aka Bhaiaji’s wife. Here’s how Preity Zinta paid a tribute to Mumtaz in Bhaiaji Superhit

Bollywood buffs would be aware that this particular look of Mumtaz is from her blockbuster Rajesh Khanna film Aap Ki Kasam. To be more precise, it reminds you of Mumtaz from the song ‘Jai Jai Shiv Shankar’. On the other hand, Preity Zinta will be sporting the said look for the song ‘Shiv’ from her film, Bhaiaji Superhitt.

A source close to the development said, “Preity has often been told she resembles the iconic actress Mumtaz and the star recently got the opportunity you pay tribute to her in the upcoming film.” Elaborating on the same, Preity Zinta said, “Filmmakers often told me that I resemble Mumtazji, and there couldn’t be a better tribute to her [than this song]. The track is dedicated to Shivji, and also involves bhaang [like the original].

If that wasn’t all, Preity also emulated her steps in the song ‘Sleepy Sleepy Naina’ from the film. “After careful discussion with [choreographer] Ahmed Khan, we arrived at the steps for this song. Ahmed had to demonstrate each step. I replicated it to the tee, while adding my own characteristic to the part,” added Preity.

Also starring Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade amongst others, Bhaiaji Superhitt is directed by Neeraj Pathak. It is produced by Chirag Mahendra Dhariwal and is slated to release during Dussehra that is on October 19. The film has been in the backburner for over five years and was caught in financial troubles until the makers finally decided to release it this year.
