The month of Love and Friendship, February may be clichéd but Bollywood loves it all. Allowing us an ample glimpse into one such relationship of tinsel town is that of Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt. The mentor and his mentee, Karan and Alia grace the cover of Elle magazine this month as they share a laugh, love, loads of good vibes – looking nothing less than impeccable whilst at it! The modern-day BFF’s feature in this special edition that pays an ode to the many forms and faces of friendship. Alia Bhatt, the bonafide star kid was launched by the bonafide Big Daddy of starkid launch, Karan Johar in his 2012 film, Student of the Year. While Alia went on to prove her mettle as a worthy actor of this generation with a variety of meaty and versatile roles, Karan has been through it all with the millennial, including the ups and downs in her love life. Commemorating this camaraderie that’s a rarity in the industry, the duo’s glamorous cover is certainly worth a look.

The photoshoot has been lensed by photographer Tarun Khosla and styled by Malini Banerji and Rahul Vijay. While Alia’s glam has been handled by Puneet Saini for makeup and Yianni Tsapatori for hair, Karan’s glam squad features makeup artist Paresh Kalgutkar and hairstylist Rajeev Gogoi.

Twinning and winning in blue, the duo poses some serious sass and smoulder on the cover. Alia looks pretty in a printed and strapless blue Louis Vuitton dress while Karan cuts a dapper picture in a powder blue-white Gaurav Gupta suit. Alia sports glossy makeup with a wavy half-updo. Karan sports a well-groomed mane and his signature pout.

Karan Johar will helm the directorial affairs for his magnum opus, Takht featuring an ensemble cast of Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal and Anil Kapoor.
