A Congress party worker from Mumbai has sent Prakash Jha a long and comprehensive letter warning him against portraying the Gandhis in an unfavourable light in Raajneeti. Apparently, this is the first of a number of well-worded warnings that Prakash has received during the last one week. The incensed and impatient director sees these as nothing but desperate efforts by over-zealous party workers to get noticed. Jha has found the easiest method of dealing with these politicians’ intrusions. "Why give such people importance? Please don’t mention his name. I simply don’t react. When I got the letter from the party worker who shall go unnamed, I read it and tore it up. And I called up the gentleman and said, ‘If you think I’m going to respond in writing to your letter so that you can get mileage and publicity out of it then you’re mistaken. I want to thank you for your concern. But I’ve nothing to say to you.’ Jha says he won’t respond to any of the politicians trying to get into the picture to please their high command and get publicity. "If the Congress high-command has doubts about the content of my film they’re most welcome to watch it when I’m ready to show it to them. Before that there’s nothing to be said to anyone."
