Two Bronx women were arrested after allegedly trying to smuggle cocaine in diapers through John F. Kennedy Airport terminal Saturday.

Priscilla Pena and Michelle Blassingale were caught wearing “cocaine diapers” once they arrived at JFK Airport following a JetBlue flight in the Dominican Republic, CBS Ny reports.

Pena was selected for search following a drug-sniffing dog alerted airport officials to something around Pena’s midsection.

Based on an affidavit on the incident obtained by Gothamist, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials missed anything once they inspected Pena’s luggage but noticed she “appeared to be really nervous” during questioning. Pena ended up being given a pat-down before consenting to some strip-search, prosecutors said.

Throughout the search officers discovered she was wearing a black apparatus having a silver plastic wrapper “rigged just like a girdle around their hindquarters.” Within the “diaper,” officials say they found cocaine.

Pena then revealed she’d been going with Blassingale, who was also searched, based on the affidavit. CBP officials found her wearing exactly the same “cocaine diaper” as Pena.

Together, the 2 women were carrying 6.5 kilos of cocaine.

These were arrested and faced with smuggling, according to the Ny Post. Blassingale occured in custody in Brooklyn and Pena was launched on $150,000 bond.

This is not the first time this month someone continues to be caught stowing cocaine within their unmentionables in JFK.

Luz Massiel Pérez Arlequín was arrested at JFK on Jan. 12 after CBP officers found a bra and two sneakers full of cocaine in her own luggage, based on the Star-Ledger. Arlequin, who was also traveling in the Dominican Republic, faces federal narcotics smuggling charges.
