CFSI approached Salman Khan to schedule an appearance at the upcoming children's festival to be held in Hyderabad. His team corresponded promptly and said that Salman was busy shooting a film and would not be able to attend it. To compensate for his absence, he offered to associate with the festival by recording an audio-visual clip and promoting the 18th edition of The Golden Elephant on his social networking pages on Facebook and Twitter which have millions of followers.

The clip which has Salman Khan talking about his love for children and his favourite children's films will be used during the promotional activities for the festival. Salman also congratulated the CFSI team for promoting the cause of educative entertainment made for children and organizing the largest children's film festival in Asia.

"We are very grateful to Mr. Khan for lending his support to the 18 Golden Elephant. His voice will help us to reach out to the maximum number of children because they adore him." says the Chairman CFSI, Amole Gupte.

"Salman was our obvious choice for a simple reason that children love him. Unfortunately, he won't be able to come for the 18 ICFFI due to his prior work commitments but he is kind enough to shoot a promotional AV for 18 ICFFI. We will play it at the festival," Dr.Shravan Kumar, Festival Director and CEO, CFSI.

The 18th International Children's Film Festival India will be held in Hyderabad from November 14, (Children's Day) to November 20, 2013. The festival will showcase more than 200 movies from over 45 countries. Over 1.5 lakh child delegates from across the nation will be hosted at the festival.
