Considering Satish Kaushik's impeccable record when it comes to remaking South films and presenting them in a new packaging for Bollywood audience, Jain was supremely confident that the director would be able to translate the Bengali milieu of 'Bhooter Bhabishyat' well into Hindi world of Gang of Ghosts.

"I have hardly made a remake or two but when I saw the original Bengali film, I found it to be a different and very entertaining film. It does not fall into a regular genre of films. When I showed it to Satish, he also loved the film. We were discussing some other project before that but then I thought this would be a good remake film for him," says Ratan Jain.

Success of Satish Kaushik's earlier remakes like Tere Naam, Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain and Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai went in his favor too.

"Moreover, he has a very good comic sense as well. He himself is a very versatile actor. I know him for long and though he has not worked with me as director, I know that he is very capable of handling such films. He was the best man for the job," says Jain.

With an ensemble cast of a dozen odd actors to boast of, the comic stage and setting of Gang of Ghosts is what awaited Satish Kaushik. While he also came on board for the film as a producer along with Ratan Jain, the two had a task in hand to get the most appropriate cast together

"It was definitely a challenge as far as casting is concerned. Thankfully though, most of the actors that we see in the film are our first choices. With characters across various age groups and mode, we had limited choices for certain parts. However, we managed to get what we wanted," says Jain.

While Sharman Joshi, Parambrata Chatterjee, Mahie Gill, debutant Meera Chopra and Vijay Verma are the younger ones around in this Gang of Ghosts, veterans Anupam Kher and Saurabh Shukla add further weight to the proceedings as well.

"Saurabh was pretty much decided at the very onset. As for Kher, we knew that he would be the best casting for the film. Since he is Satish's friend and I have also worked with him in the past, it all worked out eventually. To be honest, we first sorted our options and then listed down the actors. If we wouldn't have got them all, I don't think we would have gone ahead with the film," reveals Jain.
