Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Its common knowledge by now that Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra will soon be seen essaying the roles of Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton respectively in the remake of the 2011 film Warrior. Now we hear that Jackie Shroff has been roped in to essay the role of the sibling's alcoholic father, originally played by Nick Nolte for which the actor even won an Oscar.

The film revolves around two brothers who meet each other in the boxing ring, and will be directed by Karan Malhotra. Confirming the news, Jackie Shroff says that he is pretty excited about the film and will commence shooting for the same from September onwards. However Jackie's role will be tweaked to suit the Indian audience.

In the original directed by Gavin O'Connor, the story follows two brothers, one a former Marine and the other a former UFC fighter-turned-schoolteacher, on opposite ends of a three-way family rift stemming from their abusive childhood. Driven by their own motives, the siblings eventually find themselves competing in the same mixed martial arts tournament with the grand prize of 5 million dollars.

Currently, Akshay Kumar is busy working on his next release It's Entertainment, while Sidharth is riding high on the success of his recent release Ek Villain that entered the Rs. 100 crore club.
