Reports have it that Mithun Chakraborty's interrogation (which lasted for more than five full hours) was all about tracking the Saradha money trail and his dealings with Bengal Media Pvt. Ltd. The ED officials reportedly said that Mithun Chakraborty's involvement with the said group commenced around the year 2010 after he approved to appear on TV shows of Sudipta Sen's 'Channel 10', whose website claims that he is their brand ambassador (a 'claim' that Mithun Chakraborty denied). Mithun clarified that, besides appearing for a TV programme of the group, he had no further involvement with Saradha nor had done any public appearance (for them).

Mithun Chakraborty said that he had started shooting for an annual payment of Rs 2 crores, but without any formal agreement. He added that, Sudipta failed to keep up his commitment on the said amount as Saradha still had to pay Rs. 51 lakh to him. He also added that he had decided not to renew the contract when the cheques started bouncing. Meanwhile, Mithun Chakraborty's lawyer D. K. Sarkar said that despite Saradha deducting TDS of Rs 14 lakh from Mithun's payments, they had not deposited it with the IT authorities. Reports have it that the CBI is expecting that Debabrata will join the investigations in the coming 15 days. Debabrata, on his part, said that he had already provided details to CBI and that he will cooperate in any manner possible.

As per reports, Saradha had invested in Mohun Bagan to the tune of Rs. 1.8 crore in 2010-11 as well as East Bengal amounting Rs. 3.5 crore since 2010. There's also a strong buzz that Sudipta had even been gifted a life membership by East Bengal.
