USA: Free $30 Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Anurag Kashyap's ambitious project Bombay Velvet that features Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma has been postponed. The film that was initially expected to release on November 28, 2014, has now been shifted to release in May 2015.

Confirming the postponement, Anurag stated that since the film will deal with recreating a bygone era, the amount of VFX work on the film had been severely underestimated. Now since there still is plenty of VFX work pending, the release date of the film would have to be pushed. In fact while the shoot of the film has been completed a while back, only 25% of VFX work has been done.

Interestingly, Bombay Velvet that is produced by Phantom Films and Fox Star Studios, and is based on historian Gyan Prakash's book "Mumbai Fables" is Anurag Kashyap's first attempt at making a mainstream commercial film. Besides this, with the postponement of the film's release, Bombay Velvet that also features Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar will be released close to Ranbir Kapoor's Jagga Jasoos directed by Anurag Basu that features Katrina Kaif and is scheduled to release on May 29, 2015.
