USA: Free $30 Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Usually a film achieves the tax free status in any city or state, only post its release. However, the upcoming sports biopic Mary Kom, that features Priyanka Chopra, has already been declared tax free in Maharashtra.

Commenting on the tax free status granted by the Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat and Government of Maharashtra, Ajit Andhare, COO, Viacom18 Motion Pictures, stated that they were grateful for the tax free status that will enable the film to reach a larger segment of society.

Based on the true story of Indian Olympic boxer Mary Kom, the film chronicles the journey of a woman boxer who gave up her sporting career when it was at its peak, to embrace the joy of motherhood. After giving birth to two beautiful children, she made her comeback into the ring and went on to become both a stronger woman and a stronger boxer.

Directed by Omung Kumar and co-produced by filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Mary Kom is set to release on September 5.
