USA: Free $30 Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…The very talented Irrfan Khan finds himself embroiled in an unnecessary controversy.

Never known to shun from commitments, Irrfan Khan is deeply affronted by producer Vashu Bhagnani's allegations of non-professionalism regarding the project Welcome To Karachi.

While a whole lot of back-and-forth of accusations and counter-accusations were on, no one knows that Irrfan was kept in the dark about the film's British leading lady.

Irrfan Khan who has worked with the likes of Angelina Jolie and Natalie Portman was given the impression that he'd be working with a reputed British actress in Welcome To Karachi.

Instead a nondescript actress was finally signed for the film.

Says Irrfan, "I wouldn't have minded working with anyone. But the British actress paired opposite me needed to have great comic timing. I am sorry to say I saw no evidence of this anywhere. Vashuji didn't even do a proper audition with her. All I saw in the so-called audition was the British girl introducing herself. I am sorry. But that was no proof of her acting capability."

Irrfan Khan says he had been involved with the project for a very long time. "I saw a great deal of potential in the script of Welcome To Karachi. I was working with the director Ashish R Mohan for more than a year on the subject. But then things didn't work out."

Irrfan had apparently informed Vashu Bhagnani well in advance that he wouldn't be doing the film. "So I don't know what all this drama about the crew waiting for me on the airport was all about. We mutually agreed to part. Then all of a sudden I heard I had left them high and dry. In my entire career I've never been accused of unprofessionalism. I am afraid this whole thing seems highly unsavoury. What Vashuji did was not right."
