Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Imtiaz Ali, who redefined romance in Bollywood, had announced his divorce with wife Preety last year, after being married to her for more than decade. Though speculations were on the rise that a certain Pakistani actress Iman Ali was responsible for this, Imtiaz never went on record to talk about his personal life. And now, ironically, the estranged couple is coming together for a film which will be a love story.
Based on the lines of the epic romance of Laila and Majnu, we hear that Imtiaz Ali will be seen actively participating in the process of the making of the film. Though Preety remained tightlipped about the details of the cast and crew, she maintained that Imtiaz indeed will be involved with the film and will be the creative director of the same. It is also being said, Imtiaz's brother Sajid Ali will be directing the same.
Talking about the love story, Preety revealed that the film is not a remake of the 1976 film Laila Majnu which starred Rishi Kapoor and Ranjeeta in the lead. The film which is tentatively titled Laila Majnu will also be co-produced by Ekta Kapoor.
Preety and Imtiaz Ali have remained professional partners, despite the separation and Preety even stated that Imtiaz has always been very close to her as a person. The two also have a twelve year old daughter Ida.
