USA: Free $30 Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…It's been years now that veteran actor Anupam Kher has been embroiled in a battle with director Samir Karnik after the latter's cheques bounced. Now a while back, Kher took to twitter expressing his dissatisfaction about the matter saying, "Producer Sameer Karnik hasn't cleared my dues even after 2yrs. Made police complaint about bounced cheques 1yr back. NOTHING has Happened."

Later Kher added, "Goodness towards somebody who plays a victim, can be termed as your foolishness. Have been waiting for my dues for long. #SameerKarnik". However when contacted Samir Karnik refrained from saying much, "The matter is in court. We are awaiting the verdict. After all, the court rules are court rules. We will abide by that."

But when we got in touch with Anupam Kher for further details on court proceeding regarding the case he added, "Sameer owes me more than Rs. 20 lakhs. I have given him more than 2 years for the same. As for him claiming that the matter is in the court, let me tell you that there is no such matter which has gone to or has been registered in the court. Left with no option than to take the legal course, I had even registered a complaint with the police regarding non-payment of dues almost a year back. Now, I am going to the higher authorities in the police department to follow up on the case."

Anupam Kher had earlier filed a complaint against Karnik with the actors' association after the latter's cheques as remuneration for working on Chaar Din Ki Chandni had bounced. Tusshar Kapoor who too was in the film has also filed a case against Karnik.
