USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…After a grand launch of Welcome To Karachi, producer Vashu Bhagnani took off to London to continue with the shoot of the film. However, he was in for a shock when Irrfan Khan apparently decided to back out at the last moment. Though Irrfan had then claimed to have date issues with the film, it is now being said that Irrfan Khan quit the film because he was not happy with his co-star.
Vashu Bhagnani, who openly admitted about being miffed with Irrfan for backing out of the film at the last moment, revealed that the decision was taken by the actor after they decided to bring in Pakistani actress Rabia Khan as the female lead in the film. According to the producer, Irrfan Khan was really keen on taking actress Nargis Fakhri on board for the film but it seems that the deal did not work out and they were forced to look out for another actress. Vashu was impressed by Rabia Khan's audition which happened in London and decided to sign her for the film but Irrfan wasn't convinced with the decision. Vashu mentioned that he had decided to give the role to Rabia because of her excellent command over Hindi, Urdu and English.
After Irrfan Khan walked out, Vashu's son Jackky decided to replace the actor. Directed by Ashish Mohan, Welcome To Karachi also stars Arshad Warsi in the lead.
