USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…He is undoubtedly the biggest superstar of the country and Amitabh Bachchan has been an inspiration to many. So when he was conferred with the highest civilian award 'Padma Vibhushan' on Republic Day (January 26), it came as no surprise.
The humbled megastar Amitabh Bachchan is thrilled over this honour and he took to the blog to express his happiness over it. He wrote, "The Government of India has decorated me today with the highest Padma Award of the country, the Padma Vibhushan .. I have no words to express my gratitude to the powers that be and am most humbled and overwhelmed by the generosity of the people that decide or sit on judgement on this .."
Amitabh Bachchan has previously received the other Padma awards which include Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan. The 2015 awards for Padma Shri were presented to filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and a posthumous honour was given to late veteran actor Shri Pran Kumar Sharma aka Pran.
