Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…The AIB Roast controversy has been gathering steam with the Maharashtra government and the Mumbai police, both initiating separate investigations into the event and its content. Meanwhile, the organizers of the show have been at the receiving end. In fact, the host of the show Karan Johar too had to face the music with comments being made on his intentions of doing the show. However, as a silver lining, his one-time 'twitter' enemy, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma surprisingly came out in support of Karan Johar this time.

In fact RGV took to twitter posting a series of tweets in support of AIB and Karan Johar saying, "The AiB show is final proof that India has finally come of age and I truly appreciate Karan for taking the plunge or more correctly the leap." Further talking about Karan, RGV added, "Karan took the lid off of a volcano of lies and hypocrisies and history will remember him as the guy who invented a new india. Anyone who condemns Karan's AIB Show whether from government or various organisations are just the figure heads of repressive regressions."

Later talking about the show itself, RGV posted, "The sheer popularity of the AIB also shud b a call to the censor board to wake up smell the coffee and look out of the window at a new India. I feel what Karan did in AIB in time will most certainly have an irreversible Before Karan/After Karan effect on the way India looks at itself." Expressing his views on the guts Karan Johar had to appear on the show, RGV added, "What everybody knows, everybody feels Karan had the guts to spearhead and also that he did it in that kind of style and intensity I am blown. What books, sociologists, scholars couldn't do in decades, Karan Johar did in 2 hours in a highly entertaining show and that too so simply."

In conclusion to his show of support, RGV went on to express his views about the show saying, "For me AIB is not a comedy show..its a k j's philosophical treatise on uprooting a hypocritical society and to grow an all new one. Whoever reacting negatively on AIB r just 2 bit dirt cheap publicity mongers who r Just trying 2 get in their own 2 bit reflected light of AIB."
