USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…The game of musical chair continues to be played for Aamir Khan's next film Dangal. Last week it was being rumored that Kangna Ranaut was approached to play Aamir's daughter in the film which would be directed by Nitesh Tiwari. While Kangna denied that she was approached for the film, the new name that went into circulation this week was that of Taapsee Pannu.
Well, the story is just the same as Taapsee too has been caught absolutely clueless about the developments.
"Guess there are too many well-wishers around who seem to making these insinuations," chuckles Taapsee, "Please say my thank you to those who are spreading such 'news pieces'. However, to set the records straight, this is news to me too. I don't know from where has all this come from."
While 'sources' behind these rumors insist that Taapsee is indeed one of the four names that has been shortlisted for Dangal where the girl is required to bulk up for the role of a wrestler, those from the industry do believe that it won't be a bad choice to rope the Baby girl in.
"There are many factors that go in her favor," says a seasoned filmmaker who didn't wish to be named, "First and foremost, she has proved her mettle with Baby. From being a 'bindaas' girl in Chashme Baddoor to getting into an action avtar for Baby, she has shown her range. Secondly, she has the kind of body frame which she can develop to look convincing as a young wrestler. Thirdly, she can pass off well as a 21 year old, which is a core requirement for Dangal. Fourthly, and very importantly, she is still very under-exposed. In an Aamir Khan film, a relative fresh face like hers would add on as a surprise element."
It is a matter of time though that the cat would be out of the bag since Dangal is expected to go on floors by March end. This means dates for a leading lady need to be knocked sooner or later. Meanwhile one waits to see that if she is the chosen one, how would Taapsee adjust her date diary since she also has the shoot of Agra Ka Dabra coming up.
