The news is that, its sequel, which is called Ghayal Once Again, will be seen taking off from where the first film left and that the film is based on a real-life event in the life of a Mumbai Police encounter specialist. The latest update is that, the satellite rights of the film have been sold off to Viacom 18 for a whopping Rs. 20 crores. When we quizzed Suniel Saini (co-producer) of the film, he said, "Yes, the satellite rights of Ghayal Once Again have been sold off to Viacom18." But he refused to divulge the figures.

Bollywood Hungama's reliable sources however confirmed that the film has been sold off for a whopping Rs. 20 crores to Viacom 18.
