Subhash Kapoor debuts as lyricist and composer for Guddu Rangeela

USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Sometime back Subhash Kapoor released the trailer of his next titled Guddu Rangeela. While the trailer was met with good response from the audience, we have news for you. In fact the national award winning director will be seen turning lyricist and composer for the film and the quirky song titled 'Mata Ka Email' has been used in the trailer has been written and composed by him.

Commenting on the same, Subhash reveals, "Growing up in Delhi I have heard all kinds of interesting mata songs, my childhood memories gave birth to 'Mata Ka Email' I wrote and composed it because it gels brilliantly well with characters of Guddu Rangeela. I wanted a very raw and desi feel to it so traveled to Rohtak in Haryana and auditioned local folk singers and picked up a local ragini singer Gajender Phogat to sing it. I am very happy the kind of response 'Mata Ka Email' is getting. It communicates the space and miliue of Guddu Rangeela."

Guddu Rangeela which is said to be an action comedy that uses the sensitive topic of khap panchayat as the backdrop is produced by Sangeeta Ahir and presented by Fox Star Studios. Featuring Amit Sadh, Arshad Warsi, Ronit Roy and Aditi Rao Hydari, the film is slated to hit theatres in July 2015.
