The song has been facing charges for maligning a Hindi nursery rhyme and hence an NGO has sought a ban on the song according to a plea filed by them at a Delhi High Court.

The PIL has been filed by the NGO against the central government, Censor Board, the Delhi government and producers Pooja Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. As per that, the lyrics of the song 'Lalla Lalla Lori, Daaru Ki Katori' fall under the objectionable category. They claimed that since this is nursery rhyme which is very popular amongst children, they will be exposed to the word 'daaru' (alcohol) at the tender age and it is also against article 47 of the Indian constitution (duty of the state to improve the standard of living and to improve public health affairs).

Further, the plea seeks the removal of the song from the film and to ban it from playing on television or advertising it. Also, the NGO has added that the court should direct a policy regarding the film certification by giving special consideration to its effect on children's minds especially in case of maligning a nursery rhyme. They have also mentioned in the plea that this may act as an advertisement to promote liquor on television and other electronic medium which is banned as per the Cable Television Network Amendment Act.

Directed by Ashish R. Mohan, Welcome 2 Karachi stars Jackky Bhagnani, Arshad Warsi and Lauren Gottlieb in prominent roles. It is slated to release on May 28.
