Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…The very moment the Sunny Deol starrer Mohalla Assi's trailer 'leaked' on the web, it had everyone shell shocked because of its expletive-filled language. And this resulted in the political party Bajrang Dal demanding a ban on the film on one hand, and on the other hand, FIRs started being filed against Sunny Deol (who plays the role of a Sanskrit teacher in the film), and the film's director Dr. Chandrakprakash Dwivedi.
The latest update is that, the release of the film now has been stayed by a Delhi court, for allegedly hurting religious sentiments. Based on the book Kashi Ka Assi by Dr. Kashinath Singh, Mohalla Assi also stars Ravi Kishan, Sakshi Tanwar and Saurabh Shukla in lead roles. Watch this space for more developments.
