Farhan Akhtar did a cameo in his last film Dil Dhadakne Do. He had a short yet impactful role in the film.

When director Zoya Akhtar narrated Farhan’s character to him, he really liked the character. Even though it was small, he liked the character so much that he decided to play it. He strongly felt that the character voices the ideology of MARD, a platform created by Farhan that is about gender equality.

In fact, Farhan played Sunny’s character in Dil Dhadakne Do because of the stance it takes in the film. It is in tandem with what he believes in real life.

Farhan chooses to express this belief through the platform of MARD – Men Against Rape and Discrimination.

Farhan personally has set up MARD which is an initiative which works towards spreading gender awareness.

Even while playing Sunny’s character, Farhan realized the real life similarities to the character that he has.

Farhan could connect to his character because he believes in real life what his character stands up for on screen.

Farhan has been receiving praise from all quarters and audience appreciation for his performance in Dil Dhadakne Do.

In fact, Farhan’s one particular scene moves the entire theatre to a huge round of applause. The scene where he talks about gender equality and stands up for Priyanka Chopra against Rahul Bose is a really powerful scene and there is a unanimous applause in theatres after Farhan delivers this dialogue.

In his short screen time Farhan brings the screen alive and has managed to captivate the audience, leaving a lasting impression in the minds of the audiences.
