Karan Johar and Farhan-Ritesh have Eros as the partner for Rock On 2 Kal Jisne Dekha

Between Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Eros has already made close to 475 crore just in India. In a strategic tie up with Salman Khan and Aanand L. Rai respectively, Sunil Lulla made sure that it turned out to be a win-win situation for all with a big release and great returns. While there is already more happening with Salman Khan and Firoz Nadiadwala for Hero and Welcome Back respectively, there are even bigger plans in the making.

Come 2016 and films like Rock On 2 and Kal Jisne Dekha would have Eros association as well.

Confirms our source, "Excel Entertainment and Dharma Productions are two of the most notable filmmaking houses in Bollywood today. They have a series of films lined up next, which are carrying great vibes already and are much awaited in 2016. Rock On 2 – an Excel affair, and Kal Jisne Dekha – which has both Excel and Dharma coming together, are two such films. Now Eros is joining hands with these films as well."

The move is considered to be pretty strategic as this means the marketing, promotion and release might of Eros would give Rock On 2 and Kal Jisne Dekha all the more impetus. Moreover, with the kind of brand value that Rock On enjoys and the first time coming together of Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra in Kal Jisne Dekha, it is only going to be further addition to the repertoire of Eros.

"The sequel of Rock On is much awaited. It has an almost the same cast of Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal and Purab Kohli coming together along with Prachi Desai, while the star attraction is Shraddha Kapoor. On the other hand Kal Jisne Dekha is a unique love story and with Sidharth continuing to experiment with genres and Katrina picking up unique films as well, there is something new in the offering for the audience. With industry bigwigs like Karan Johar, Sunil Lulla, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani coming together, the alliance is looking quite interesting already," our source adds.

Incidentally, both films are helmed by first time directors. While Rock On 2 has Shujaat Saudagar as the director, Kal Jisne Dekha would be made by Nitya Mehra. Both films are expected to release in 2016.
