The makers of Force 2 have been particular about filming the actioner at real locations. They had recently approached the Chinese government to shoot a few portions in the East Asian country, but their request was declined. Reason? The film’s sensitive storyline.

The team had wrapped up their first schedule in Budapest, post which they were ready to head to China where the film is set. However, since it deals with intelligence agencies of multiple countries, including India’s primary foreign intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing ( RAW), and the Ministry of State Security ( Chinese intelligence agency), the China government declined permissions of the film shoot there.

The authorities’ decision is said to have been made following apprehensions over the country’s portrayal on celluloid.

The makers are now scouting for alternative locations. The film’s producer, Vipul Shah says, “ The Chinese government refused to give us permission to shoot there due to the film’s subject. We are still trying ( to convince them) although I don’t think they will agree. So, we are also trying to figure out an alternate location. The sequel will be a step ahead from the first film ( Force, 2011). We have shot some good action sequences in the first schedule.”

Produced by Vipul Shah's Sunshine Picture in association with Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, Force 2 is Directed by Abhinay Deo, the film stars John Abraham and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles.
