Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…While trade analysts to producers were eagerly awaiting to see the biggest clash of 2016, with the release of Sultan and Raees on the same day, now, the release of the Shah Rukh Khan starrer has not only been pushed but it has been postponed until next year. Fans of King Khan will now have to wait for the release of his next until January 26, 2017.

Raees was supposedly Eid ka tohfa (gift for Eid) by Shah Rukh Khan to his fans but now after discussions over the same, the film which was to hit the screens in July 2016 will release on January 26, 2017. Revealing about it was the superstar along with producers Riteish Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, who added that though this wasn't an easy decision, they had to find the right time to showcase a film of such high magnitude.

Talking about the shift in the release date of Raees the makers of the film Ritesh Sidhwani, Shah Rukh Khan and Farhan Akhtar released a statement saying, "It was not an easy decsion to move the film. We understand that Raees is highly anticipated. however, a film of such magnitude requires the appropriate showcasing and therefore, we have decided to shift our release date to 26th January 2017."

Starring Mahira Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Raees that has been shot in varied locations of Gujarat and Mumbai, is directed by Rahul Dholakia.
