Police launch probe into censor copy leak of Marathi film Sairat

What many do not know is that the original copy of the film had got leaked on the internet two days before its release on April 29. That's why, Nagraj Manjule (Sairat's director- story writer- producer) went onto approach the Mumbai Police Commissioner to seek legal action in the matter.

In the written complaint that he had submitted to Datta Padsalgikar (Mumbai's Police Commissioner) and Atulchandra Kulkarni (Joint Commissioner of Police-Crime), Nagraj Manjule had sought legal action against the accused involved in leaking the movie's original censor copy.

Speaking about the complaint, Atulchandra Kulkarni said that they were investigating the matter and would also engage the cyber police to probe the case from all the angles to trace the culprits.
