USA: Free $30 Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Speculations have been rife about Anil Kapoor working with filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. And now it is being said that the film in question is the official remake of the Oscar nominated Dutch film Everybody's Famous (2000).

This musical comedy has been tentatively titled Fanney Khan and it marks the Bollywood directorial debut of Atul Manjrekar. While Rakeysh Mehra will don the role of the producer, the other casting details are yet to be finalized. Everybody's Famous, directed by Dominique Deruddere stars Josse De Pauw, Eva van der Gucht, Thekla Reuten among others. The story revolves around the father who tries to impose his dreams of becoming a singer on his daughter and the 17 year old girl whose repeated attempts at singing contests only lead to failure. Desperate to fulfil their dreams, the duo end up kidnapping a teen pop sensation Debbie. However, this controversy increases the sales of Debbie's music thereby prompting the singer's manager to crack a deal with the kidnappers.

The preparations for the same have already kick started and with music playing a major factor in the film, even the recordings is said to start from this month. As of now, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is gearing up for the debut of Anil Kapoor's Harshvardhan Kapoor, Mirzya.
