Salman Khan sends his reply to National Commission for Women

Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Few days back, Salman Khan made headlines for a comment he made about feeling like a raped woman when questioned about the gruelling shoot for his film Sultan. Though the actor was quick in realizing his mistake and made efforts to correct the comment, he faced a backlash on social networking sites as well as from political and social entities. In fact the National Commission for Women (NCW) even issued a notice to Salman Khan demanding an explanation for his statement and a public apology failing which they would file a legal case against him.

Now we hear that Salman Khan has tended his reply to the NCW. Talking about the same, Lalitha Kumaramangalam, from the NCW, stated that the commission has indeed received a reply from Salman Khan via his lawyers but the actor has not apologized for making the statements. Currently, the NCW are studying the reply received.

Later adding more details on the same Vijaya Rahatkar, appointed chief of the NCW stated that while the case over Salman Khan's rape remark was heard, neither Salman Khan nor his lawyer were present. Further she aded that the commission has received a letter by Salman Khan's lawyer on June 28 stating, since the case is being held by NCW, the case should not be heard at state level to avoid double zero party.

Post this the NCW has asked Salman Khan to appear on July 7 for the hearing as this is a concurrent subject and state commission has power to hear the same.
