Akshay Kumar makes Dishoom cameo super entertaining for friend Sajid Nadiadwala

It is a known fact that Akshay Kumar's role in tomorrow's release Dishoom is basically, a cameo. In his new look, Akshay Kumar appears in a super entertaining scene that is also pitched as a highlight of the John Abraham and Varun Dhawan starrer. It is also a known fact that Akshay consented to come on board for the part mainly for his friend, Sajid Nadiadwala.

"Akshay Kumar and Sajid Nadiadwala have been together since their school days. That goes more than three decades back. In fact, during last couple of decades, they have enjoyed a great professional association as well. Other than the three instalments of Housefull franchise, Akshay has done Kambakkth Ishq, Heyy Babyy, Jaan-e-Mann, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and Waqt Hamara Hai as well with Sajid Nadiadwala. That makes it one of the most prolific and successful actor-producer 'jodi'," comments a common associate.

No wonder, once Dishoom was about to wrap up, and, the makers felt that Akshay Kumar could add further value in a cameo, the superstar was happy to comply.

"Akshay Kumar has a busy schedule. This year, he has moved on from promoting and releasing Airlift to wrapping up Housefull 3 to also finishing Rustom in a record time. He has already completed a substantial portion of Robot 2.0 and has also kick-started Jolly LLB 2. When Dishoom's cameo was offered to him, Akshay Kumar was in the middle of hectic times. However, he never says 'no' to Sajid Nadiadwala. He was game for the cameo," a source adds.

At his end, Sajid Nadiadwala too wanted to make sure that Akshay Kumar's screen time in the film was truly worth it. Hence, he and director Rohit Dhawan went all out to make it special for the superstar, film and of course the audience.

"There is no other way to do that, isn't it," says a source close to Sajid, "What's the point in roping in an actor of Akshay Kumar's stature and not make it special. In any case, Sajid Nadiadwala rarely brings on cameo appearances for his films, unless it is truly remarkable. The last time he did that, it was with none less than Sylvester Stallone in Kambakkth Ishq. That film had Akshay Kumar as the lead protagonist. Over the years, Akshay Kumar has only become bigger and it is only befitting that he makes an appearance now for a John Abraham and Varun Dhawan starrer."
True that!
