Kim Kardashian might be the unofficial matriarch of the naked dress (see: this year's Met Gala for the latest example). But, that doesn't mean that other red-carpet-walking celebrities haven't threatened her throne. At last night's launch of Plenti, the App Store's newest reward program, former Hart of Dixie actress Jaime King took one step for nude dressing and one giant leap for pregnant nude dressing.
Yes, we know — not everyone is a 6-foot-something model-cum-actress. And yes, we realize an expert expensive tailor is not always accessible to just anyone. But, the point here is that we appreciate King's chutzpah when it comes to dressing for her shape. When pregnant, it's easy (and economical) to stick to a one-size-fits-all wardrobe due to an ever-expanding belly, but sacrificing style for practicality doesn't always have to be the answer to that tricky transition. Jamie's Giulietta dress is the perfect example.
So the next time you discover you've got a mini-you on the way (and congratulations in advance!), consider this look when you want to sex it up. Your favorite heels may have to take the backseat for about nine months, but a chic lace-up in an unexpected color can be leg-lengthening, too. And body-con dressing may not be the newest concept in maternity fashion, but having the confidence to take it a step further and pull off one of fashion's trickiest trends is pretty frickin' awesome.
