2015 Honda Fit is unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, MI

During the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Honda gave us a first glimpse at the completely redesigned Fit for 2015. The automaker boasts that this subcompact is faster, more fuel-efficient and lots more fun, and that it is the best Fit to date.

In addition to its fresh new look, the 2015 Fit also gets 13 more horses and an additional 8 lb-ft of torque. The new car will also be lighter, and promises sharper handling characteristics.

For the first time the Fit will feature a CVT transmission along with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. A 6-speed manual transmission comes standard for those who wish to shift by hand.

2015 Fit models will be equipped with a slew of new standard features including Bluetooth connectivity, a multi-angle rearview camera, and an Expanded View Driver’s Mirror. Optional premium features include: smart entry with push-button start, heated side mirrors, a moonroof, heated front seats, Honda’s own LaneWatch display and a 7-inch touchscreen interface with HondaLink smartphone connectivity. Leather-trimmed seating is a premium option that is offered for the first time in the Fit.

With a longer wheelbase (+1.2 inches) and slightly wider track (+0.3 inches) the new Fit will also feature more leg room and increased passenger volume while maintaining its class-exclusive multi-configuration rear seats. The longer, wider track also promises better handling and a more stable ride.

Manufacturing of the 2015 Fit will begin in February at Honda’s new North American manufacturing plant in Celaya, Mexico.
