Contemplation allows us to to sit with similar questions, and as we begin to peel the layers, we find the mind has layers and layers, which need to be unraveled; we dig and untwist the memories, that bind us and keep us entangled, in the past, or project that past into the fantasy of the future. These memories are sometimes so deeply embedded, that we are caught off guard when we act or behave in a certain manner, most often after an action or a word has already been spoken, creating not only conflict for us, but causing damage to others. Later the question can arise in the mind, "why am I the way I am"…
So what is the guiding light, the torch that lights the "way" for us, the way to be true to our inner nature. The inner nature, where duality or conflict is recognised as soon as it arises. The light that guides us to see how the obstacles, created by the memories and the mind, become the roadblock on our path. The light of awareness, can be considered the light that shines into the dark corners of our soul. In the light of awareness, the fears that reside in the corners are illuminated. Allowing one to ask the question, do I face this fear, and allow it to extinguish in the flame of awareness, or turn my light away, This realization gives us the ability to live with either the choice less awareness, or the awareness of choice.
Tu Eres Mi Otro Yo – (You Are My Other Self). A Mayan concept of unity, we learn to be ourselves through our relationships with others.
