“To be sure, the 5C isn’t exactly heating up the consumer market. Apple dashed hopes of a truly low-cost phone that could compete internationally when it revealed that the nonsubsidized price of the 5C would be $550. Even at a subsidized cost of $99 with a two-year contract, the 5C has undergone price chops from Walmart, Target, and other retailers CNETEdgadget reports – Many have griped about the Moto X’s $200 on-contract price, which is a lot to pay for hardware that’s frequently considered mid-range.”

If you don’t mind having the iPhone 5, which some say is a better phone that the plastic 5C, it only costs $79 at Telus.

Engadget Moto X

“Motorola must have heard that grousing, as the price of its 16GB Android flagship has dropped to $100 for both AT&T’s Moto Maker variant as well as the plainer Sprint and US Cellular versions. AT&T’s customized 32GB phone is also cheaper at $150. The regular 16GB AT&T and Verizon editions still sell through the carriers for $200, although it’s possible to pick up either of them for $100 at third-party stores like Amazon.”

At Rogers Mobile, you can get two Moto X phones for the price of one.

The launch price will be easier to swallow, though. AT&T plans to ship the ATIV S Neo on November 8th for $100 on contract, or $50 less than it cost at Sprint when brand new. Sprint is now offering the same smartphone for half of AT&T’s price, $49.99, plus a two-year contract.”- Computerworld
