Episode – 1
Meet Gracie, a 16 year old girl, who’s life isn’t perfect. In fact, sometimes it feels to Gracie as if she is living in constant gray drab. She doesn’t like her mousy brown hair, her mousy brown eyes, in fact, sometimes the world around Gracie even looks like it’s dressed in gray drab. Until one day, Gracie takes a wrong turn down a street on her way home in the smog filled, dismal city of Plainfield, where she and her mother have come to live in the big old mysterious house. Gracie’s mom inherited it from a distant family member. It is a long walk along all the way out to the edge of the city. Gracie and her mom have had to move there because her Dad is still missing in the military and money is very tight. But, on this particularly down in the mouth day, Gracie discovers some pink glitter on the pavement. She wants to follow it but realizes that to go any further could spell disaster. After all, Gracie has just moved to Plainfield only a month ago and still hasn’t become totally familiar with most of the streets. Nor has she really had a chance to make any new friends. She even wonders who would come all the way out to visit her in such a strange home anyway! “Plainfield! It even sounds gray drab”, she thought to herself, as she turned herself around to head for home, still wondering about the pink glitter.
She doesn’t have to wonder about it for long, for when she arrives home, her mother asks her what the pink stuff is in her hair and inquires about how it got there. Gracie doesn’t know. After all, she didn’t get close enough to get any pink glitter on herself. But now she is determined to visit that street again. That is, if she can find it. Continued…..
