Pakistan is ready to take on Argentina with high hopes in their second Pool A match of the London Olympics 2012 Men’s Field Hockey Tournament at Riverbank Arena, Olympic Sports Park on Wednesday.

Pakistan team’s opening match at Olympics 2012 was tied with 1-1 against Spanish team, after which they have become more confident and hoping to perform well against the Argentinian team in their upcoming match. The Pakistan’s frontline’s potential was well in evidence against the Spanish side, but the forwards need to show greater tactics in the striking zone to win matches. A win against Argentina will definitely provide Pakistan a boost ahead of their games against Britain, South Africa and Australia. It is worth mentioning that Pakistan had scored a 4-2 victory against Argentina in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in May this year.

Team Argentina is also in good shape and is looking to beat their opponents in match against Pakistan. They have performed well in their last few games and the team looks more improved now. They are hoping well to win this game and qualify for the next round.

Both teams want to stand victorious in their upcoming match to make their dreams of grabbing an Olympics medal alive. Pakistan’s Head coach, Akhtar Rasool emphasised on the fitness levels of his players to be good enough. But Pakistan can expect Argentina to hit hard as they too need the points and this scenario should make for a tense battle of nerves. Under such circumstances, Pakistan would need tireless running, discipline and concentration to seize the upper hand early and sustain it. The crowd at the Riverbank Arena is magnificent and energetic, a real swell of inspiration.
