The New Zealand will take on South Africa in their cricket tour of South Africa, with their first Twenty20 international in Durban on Friday.

Under the lead of Brendon McCullum, one of the world’s leading T20 batsmen, New Zealand will hope to give their powerful hosts a tough time in the shortest form of the game. However, the absence of leading batsman and former captain Ross Taylor will leave the Kiwis with a gap in their team. The fast leading bowler, Tim Southee, also hit by a thumb injury sustained during a domestic match between Northern Districts and Wellington. Kiwis are ranked as 8^th in the T20 format of the game against the 5^th ranked SA. The probable Kiwi squad will include: BB McCullum(c), Corey J Anderson, MD Bates, TA Boult, DAJ Bracewell, DC de Boorder(wk), JEC Franklin, PG Fulton, MJ Guptill, RM Hira, MJ McClenaghan, NL McCullum, C Munro, JDS Neesham,RJ Nicol.

South Africa on the other hand the home advantage. With their recent failures in the shortest format, Captain AB de Villiers has been replaced by gifting South Africa’s latest hero, Faf Du Plessis. Plessis now has a chance to lead the side and show his talent in other directions as well. In the absence of AB, young Quinton de Kock will be keeping behind the wickets and is accompanied by three other new players in the T20 lineup. The likely SA squad will include: F du Plessis(c), F Behardien, H Davids, Q de Kock(wk),RK Kleinveldt, RE Levi, R McLaren, DA Miller, M Morkel, CH Morris, JL Ontong, RJ Peterson, AM Phangiso, DW Steyn, LL Tsotsobe.
